Apple Enhances iCloud Data Security
Apple has released security updates for iOS, iPadOS and macOS to protect iCloud’s Advanced Data Protection feature. Apple released iOS and iPadOS 17.6 and macOS 14.6 a week before iOS and iPad OS 17.6.1 and macOS 14.6.1.
These new updates will improve the overall user experience on iOS, iPadOS and macOS, along with fixing several security flaws. Apart from this, Apple has updated iOS 16.7.10 for older iPhones. iOS and iPadOS users can download these new updates over-the-air. That is, these updates can be installed through the Internet. For this, you have to go to the settings of the iPhone or iPad. From there go to General Options and go to Software Updates. Users can download system updates from Software Updates.
Apple wrote about this update, which fixes some important bugs and disables and enables iCloud’s Advanced Data Protection feature. With Advanced Data Protection turned on in iCloud, all shared content or content is protected by end-to-end encryption on both sides.
End-to-end encryption is available on iCloud Shared Photo Library, iCloud Drive Shared Folders, and Shared Notes. However, according to a recent Mac Rumor report, many users could not turn on iCloud’s Advanced Data Protection feature. Others saw an ‘error’ message while trying to close the facility. These errors have been resolved in the new system update released by Apple.
