Last week, the password manager in the Windows version of the Chrome browser was bugged. Due to this error, computer users running on Windows operating system could not use their passwords stored in the Chrome browser. They even failed to add a new password. After learning about this issue, Google quickly released an updated version of the Chrome browser’s password manager to fix the error.
According to Google, about 1.5 million Windows operating system users living in different countries around the world are facing problems using Chrome browser’s password manager due to this error. This issue was caused by changing various features of the password manager. An updated version of the browser has been released to fix the issue. As a result, this problem can be solved easily by restarting the Chrome browser or entering the settings from the ‘About Chrome’ option.
According to Google, 25 percent of people using the Chrome browser on Windows had their password managers automatically changed due to the flaw. Among them, 2 percent of the users could not save the new password as well as could not use the old password. And so a full Incident Response (IR) will be conducted to uncover the root cause of the problem.
